SUPPORTING ASPERGER EAST ANGLIA

Acteon has committed to a three-year programme of support for Asperger East Anglia. As well as providing financial backing, Acteon will help the charity to promote its work among the engineering community.

Asperger East Anglia is dedicated to helping those affected by Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism characterised by difficulties with social interaction and communication. It is believed to affect roughly one in a hundred children, mainly boys.

Acteon Chief Executive Richard Higham said, "There is an overwhelming range of charitable organisations that warrant our support and encouragement. Yet, for Acteon, there are two very good reasons for electing to link up with Asperger East Anglia. First of all, there is the local connection - our business, although international, is run out of the region. Then, there is a more pertinent reason. There is evidence that engineers are over-represented among the fathers of children that suffer with Asperger Syndrome. As we are most definitely an engineering company, we felt compelled to put our weight behind this excellent cause."
